When you participate in artistic expression you create a space in your mind that connects to your inner you, you no longer hear the mindless chatter involved in your day to day stresses and problems, your mind is free and you become you and not a reflection of your problems.

A wise teen once said to me, when talking about starting to paint, "its not what you paint, or how well you paint, its that you paint!"

Artistic Expression can take many forms, not just painting or drawing, it can be writing, mathematics, architecture, web design, anything that allows you to feel alive and to follow your bliss.
